Dawn Harmon
CPA, Director, Long Island Market Area (formerly Covanta)

Dawn Harmon is the Director of the Long Island Market Area for Reworld (formerly Covanta), where she is responsible for annual commercial budgets, contracts, logistics, project and business development, and government and customer relations for the Long Island region. Dawn is a Board Member with the Long Island Association, Co-Chair of the Energy and Environmental Committee for the LIA, Associate Board member of the A Better Long Island real estate development group and participates in numerous presentations across the Island as part of Expert Panels within the industry. She is currently Lead Technical Expert for the Regional Solid Waste Planning Waste to Energy working group, which will advise on Long Island waste needs to state and local governments.

Dawn has over 20 years of experience in the industry. Prior to assuming her current position, she worked for Wheelabrator Technologies for 15 years, directing accounting operations for multiple Waste to Energy facilities. Throughout her tenure, she managed companies in Washington, Maryland, Philadelphia and New Jersey.

Dawn is a Certified Public Accountant and has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Accounting from Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington.
